New album – Little Big Things
“As the world keeps growing colder, we must protect what still remains of what is real, and good, and beautiful, and strange” – from “Gathering for Winter”
After 20 years, Jeff Engholm has produced a new solo album. Little Big Things will be released on June 18th, 2021. Jeff lays down a catchy, clever vibe with lyrical melodies and “non-Nashville” chord changes. From finger-picked folk, to jangly pop, to epic rock, “eclectic” only begins to describe the variety of styles. The album features some amazing guest artists, but Jeff performs most of the instrumentation and vocals himself. Lyrically, the songs explore the pitfalls of entrepreneurialism, life lessons learned from his recently passed mother, and “Flipped” topics like digging a hole to China. This is an album about riding life on worn tires.
“Little Big Things is a twelve- song collection of uniquely different and personal material. Musically inclined listeners will notice that non-Nashville chord progressions abound throughout LBT. And it just feels right. Daring to be different yet having it all make perfect sense is the gift and artistry of an outstanding musician. If I had three hands, I would give Jeff Engholm’s Little Big Things three thumbs up.”
-Dennis Warner, grammy nominated singer/songwriter
“The highest notes of the album, as those of us familiar with Jeff Engholm’s work would expect, are the harmonies. These songs profess his love for The Beatles, Beach Boys, and CSN.”
-Al Neff, WXYG program director, producer, Into the Music
“This album exudes brightness and is musically and lyrically rich. The album is an amalgamation of influences and creativity—indie, multi-layered, engaging. You’ll discover tracks with jangling hooks, hot guitar riffs, and lyrics that capture how we love and let go.”
-Jo McMullen, KVSC, St Cloud State Univ.
